Does the world need more international water law?: Online Engagement Session for the MOOC on Governance for Transboundary Freshwater Security
Many transboundary rivers, lakes and aquifers lack specific legal arrangements relating to their sustainable and equitable management, and even where legal arrangements have been adopted, they are sometimes not fit to meet contemporary challenges, such as increasing population pressures, biodiversity degradation, and the impacts associated with climate change. Through this panel, the audience will have the opportunity to quiz leading experts on the role and relevance of international water law.
There is no requirement for any prior knowledge of international water law to join this online event. For a better learning experience, prior to the online event, participants are encouraged to register to the MOOC on Governance for Transboundary Freshwater Security, and take a look at module 3: international water law, particularly its introductory lecture for this module.
This online event is co-organized by the Wuhan International Water Law Academy and the Global Water Partnership
